First Aid at Work Training 

This course is designed for people who want to receive our most thorough first aid training. It is most suited to those working in high-risk environments, such as rail, building sites or warehouses.

Learners need a basic command of English. Learners will cover;

  • Adult resuscitation (CPR)

  • Allergic reaction

  • Asthma

  • Bone, muscle and joint injuries

  • Burns and scalds

  • Chest pains

  • Choking adult

  • Communication and casualty care

  • Eye injuries

  • Fainting

  • Head injuries

  • Defibrillator prompts and how to respond (theory based)

  • Defibrillator pad placement (theory based)

  • Low blood sugar

  • Managing an emergency

  • Minor and severe bleeding

  • Poisons and what to do if someone has been poisoned

  • Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)

  • Seizures

  • Shock

  • Spinal injuries

  • Stroke

  • Unresponsive adult

Course Duration; 3 days, full time – classroom

Emergency First Aid

Where a workplace first aid risk assessment identifies a need for an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, this one-day qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. The learner will attain knowledge and the practical competence required to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations.

Course Duration; 1 day – classroom

Paediatric First Aid

This two-day qualification fulfils the requirements for first aid training detailed in the Department for Education’s statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

A range of subjects is covered including:- • Role of the Paediatric First Aider • Seizure • Diabetic emergencies • Primary survey • Choking • Asthma • Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED) • Minor injuries • Meningitis • Wounds, bleeding and shock • Recovery position • Febrile convulsions • Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis • Fractures • Extreme cold and heat • Head, neck and back injuries • Foreign bodies • Electrical incidents

Paediatric Emergency First Aid

A Level 3 First Aid course designed for those who have an interest in child and baby Basic Life Support governed by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or OFSTED. This course covers life-threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control and choking.
