Rachael Tomkins | CEO
As company CEO, Rae has the primary role of overseeing the strategic and sustainable company growth against ambitious goals. She is a highly motivated and driven leader and is proud to have served in the Royal Air Force, where she was a highly respected Practice Manager and was named the “Queen of Cross Infection Control”.

Rachael has a First-Class Honours Degree and has had a successful career as a Social Worker, working in front line child protection alongside the Police and other professionals to safeguard and protect children and families, so has full in-depth knowledge of child welfare and development as well as Safeguarding processes and procedures. Rachael is an expert in Specialist Child Abuse Investigations. Rachael brings a wealth of knowledge from outside the sector with other business interests.

George Tomkins | Operations Director
George started his Rail career in the early 90’s with a British Rail apprenticeship and over the last 30 years has gained extensive knowledge and expertise within in the rail industry. George says the highlight of his career was the Heathrow Terminal 5 rail link project where he was the Construction Manager for Network Rail, as well as Senior Health and Safety advisor on Great Western Electrification.

After this role George decided he wanted to give back to the industry so became an assessor and started to train future generations of Railway workforce. George is a phenomenally successful trainer and assessor and has earned exceptional respect from his students. The feedback received from his classes is overwhelming as he has a no holds barred approach to passing on his vast knowledge and expertise to the next generation. His experience and knowledge are second to none; this mixed with his unique delivery style is one half of why GNR Training are the preferred training provider for many.

Becki Lewis | Head of Education
Becki previously worked as a primary school teacher and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in teaching core skills. She has also previously worked as a civil servant with the British armed forces in Germany.
Becki has an interest in over coming barriers to learning and a passion for giving everyone the skills to succeed. Previous learners have stated that they have learnt more after a week with Rebecca than they ever did at school. Becki’s strengths include identifying learners needs and supporting them on an individual basis so that every learner is able to succeed. She strives to give all her learners the confidence and skills to succeed in their future career goals.

Samantha Hollinshead | Learner Enrolment Team
Samantha has around 14 years experience working as an administrator for diverse clientel. Samantha has gained knowledge and expertise in customer service along with excellent communication skills., her strengths in organisation will be an asset to this company.  Samantha is qualified in Hospitality and catering which she still caters in her own time and is a certified First Aider.

Gareth Morgan | Head Of Marketing
Gareth has 12 years’ experience in marketing and managing various online campaigns for businesses across the country. The main role of our Marketing Manager is to make sure the vision of GNR is put across through the right branding and raising awareness of the range of fantastic services GNR has to offer. Gareth is passionate about seeing growth within the company in terms of online statistics, social media reach and general brand awareness. Gareth says, “Working with such passionate owners and staff members makes it a pleasure to come in to the office every week and I look forward to assisting with the growth of this inspiring organisation!”

Adam Barnes | Business Development Manager
Adam qualified as a teacher in 2009 and his career has developed as he worked for large colleges and private training providers. He now works on bid writing, relationship management and business growth opportunities for GNR Training. Adam leads on identifying potential development opportunities and responding to all external funding tenders; he then supports the team with the implementation of new contracts. Since joining the team at GNR in January 2021 Adam has secured multiple six-figure contracts with direct funding agencies plus supply chain and subcontracting opportunities to help take the business forward.

Zack Leader | PR & Marketing Specialist
Zack has 3 and a half years experience as a professional PR Manager, formerly in the Leisure & Entertainment industry. He has additional voluntary experience in the motorcycle racing industry, notably with an injured veterans and armed forces team as a social media manager. He has a degree qualification in Public Relations from the University of Lincoln. The main role of our PR Manager is to work closely with the marketing team to develop and maintain the reputation and public image of GNR, using tools such as marketing and creative media content – both digital and print. Zack has a passion for creating imaginative and engaging content, as well as developing a positive public image for the company.  

Keith George | Centre Manager – Peterborough
Keith is a qualified and experienced teacher with over 15 years’ experience at a successful secondary school in Milton Keynes before returning to Peterborough and making the switch to help adults pursue their lifelong learning ambitions. Though qualified as a History teacher, Keith learned to embrace new technology and made the jump to become an ICT Teacher which is how he entered the Adult Education arena. Keith’s teaching philosophy focuses on providing the Learners with the information and guidance they need, while encouraging their own independent learning and giving them the tools they need for it… The IT tips are gratis.

With an antipodean spring to his step, from 12 years spent as a youth living in New Zealand and Australia, Keith enjoys using humour


Alex Tomkins | Recruitment Manager
Alex is currently working for GNR whilst studying for A Levels. He is studying History, Law, and Business. Alex’s aim is to have a career in the RAF after studying History at University. Alex says that knowing GNR Training is run by veterans helps him to get an understanding to what life in the military will be like, as GNR is heavily loaded with staff with a military background. Alex enjoys speaking with learners and helping them on their journey in to their new life.

Harry Sheffield | Junior Marketeer
Harry has recently joined our team after completing his A levels studying IT, Public services, and Business studies. During his studies, Harry has built up a variety of skills which will be very beneficial for his job role. Harry’s role is to manage and produce content for GNR’s social media. He looks forward to developing his digital marketing skills whilst working at GNR. In his spare time, Harry enjoys playing the guitar, and piano.

Kathryn Williams | Personal Assistant
Kathryn previously worked in social care for 27 years and built up a plethora of skills and experience throughout her time working in the social care sector. In Kathryn’s spare time, she loves going for long walks with her daughter, and dog. Furthermore, Kathryn likes to go swimming, and socialising with her friends and family. One fun fact about Kathryn is that when she was younger, she was the bowling champion of Tyrol!

Nathan Scarborough | Junior Content Producer
Nathan has recently joined our team working as Junior Content Producer. Before working with GNR, he previously built up a wealth of knowledge surrounding Film and TV production in college. Nathan’s skillset will be a huge asset to the media side of our company. In Nathan’s spare time, he loves to play the drums and was recently awarded a Grade 8 in the drumming course. Nathan’s favourite place to visit is Filey, where he got to make some great memories with his partner.
